WORCESTER, MA — A signal issue delayed trains up and down the Framingham-Worcester MBTA line on Tuesday night. The signal problem was resolved by around 9:15 p.m., according to the MBTA.

At least three trains were canceled around 7:15 p.m., including the 6:45, 7, and 7:35 p.m. South Station departures, and the 8:30 p.m. Worcester inbound departure.

"Framingham/Worcester Line trains are experiencing significant delays in both directions due to an ongoing signal issue along the line. Some trains have been able to continue part of their trip, though most are still stopped," the MBTA wrote on Twitter.

Some other outbound trains were running 50 to 80 minutes late, including two trains that left South Station for Worcester before 6 p.m. The MBTA was also warning that inbound trains leaving after 7 p.m. would be delayed up and down the line.

Some commuters were using social media to report trains at a dead stop along the line.
