Skate Late: New Later Weekend Hours for Worcester Oval

Due to popular demand, the weekend hours for the Worcester Common Oval have been changed.

WORCESTER, MA — The Worcester Common Oval ice rink recently changed its weekend hours due to popular demand. With skaters asking to skate under the bright lights of the Common, Saturday and Sunday hours are being shifted one hour later.

The Oval's new hours of operation on Saturdays and Sundays are 1-6 p.m. Friday evening skating will continue to be held from 5-8 p.m.

The Oval will also be open for daytime skating during school vacation weeks and on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. During the weeks of Dec. 26 and Feb. 20, the Oval will be open from 1-6 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 1-8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 24.

The City's 12,000-square-foot rink, which opened in 2012, is 4,000 square feet larger than the rink at New York City's Rockefeller Center. The Oval has piped-in music, skate rentals, concessions, holiday lights and more, making it a fun and affordable family-friendly activity. The rink is professionally managed by SMG, the DCU Center's talented management team.
