Slew Of New Worcester Restaurants Set To Open Soon
From Nepalese dumplings to the return of Lucky's Café and The Mercantile, several restaurants got the green light to open on Thursday.

WORCESTER, MA — Worcester-area diners will have a wide array of new options soon. A key city board on Thursday approved licenses for seven new and returning eateries to start operating.
The Worcester License Commission on Thursday heard requests for common victualler licenses from many business owners. That license is typically one of the final steps before a restaurant opens.

The Mercantile
This long awaited restaurant will occupy the new building at Foster Street and Mercantile Street. The restaurant features a roof deck and space for about 500 diners, according to the owner. The restaurant is part of Boston Hospitality Group, which operates 12 restaurants across the region, including the Tavern On The Square restaurants. The license commission approved a change of manager on Thursday.

Steele and Wire Cocktail Lounge
A manager at Nicks in the Canal District is buying the beloved bar for a new concept. The new bar will feature indoor and outdoor entertainment, according to the application.
Momo Palace
The Nepalese dumpling and soup spot inside the Worcester Public Market will open a second location at 142 Highland St., the former site of the Wine Vine store. Monday to Sunday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Lucky's Café
This diner served classic breakfast and lunch fare out of the Washburn Building along Grove Street for 30 years, but closed down in the fall with plans to find a new location. The café will soon reopen in the former Chestnuts Café at the Fallon Health building downtown. Monday to Sunday, 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Shabby Gourmet Juices
This fresh juice café will open in a small space at Union Station. Shabby Gourmet previously operated in the region as a food truck. Monday to Friday, 5:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.; Saturday, Sunday 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Cali-Burritos
This new tex-mex spot will open at 394 Belmont St., the former site of a D'Angelo sub shop, and the former Oli's Tomato pizza place. Monday to Sunday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Lara Deli
This new deli will open at 66 Vernon St., which is the present location of Jay's Food Mart. Monday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
