Snake Found In Drawer In Worcester Hotel
Right next to the bible, a worker found a python while cleaning up the hotel room.
WORCESTER, MA—When staying in a hotel, travelers will often mistakenly leave items behind when they're packing up. A shirt, an eyeglass case, a cell phone, a bottle of booze-we're sure workers have seen it all when cleaning up. It's pretty rare that a cleanup worker would come across a five-foot snake in a room after the guests left.
That's the case at the Marriott Residence Inn in Worcester, where a python was found left behind in the room, reports The Worcester Telegram and Gazette. The snake was found in a drawer, and it was assumed it was either left behind or slithered in from another room.
The snake was originally thought to be a ball python, but is now determined to be a golden child reticulated python, which is illegal to be kept in Massachusetts.
An expert from Dinky's in Auburn told the Telegram that this snake is native to Asia and can grow up to 18 feet. The snake was brought to Central Mass. Aquatics.
Officials did not think the snake had been hanging out in the hotel room for long, reports WCVB-TV.
