The Soul Rebels First Ever Performance In Worcester

The program will feature a twist on New Orleans brass tradition with a blend of funk and soul.

From Worcester Music: Music Worcester is pleased to announce an evening of vibrant New Orleans Jazz music performed by The Soul Rebels on their first appearance at Mechanics Hall on Sunday, November 4 at 7:30 pm.

The program will feature a twist on New Orleans brass tradition with a blend of funk and soul and elements of hip-hop, jazz, and rock all within a brass band context. Musicians include: The Soul Rebels, 8-piece brass band; Christian Scott, Grammy Award-nominated trumpeter; and Tonya Boyd-Cannon, 2015 finalist on NBC’s The Voice.

“The Soul Rebels are known to erupt with a contagious, shout-along musical mayhem wherever they perform,” Music Worcester Executive Director Adrien C. Finlay said. “Adding in Christian Scott, a Grammy Award-nominated trumpeter, and the breathtaking vocal skills of Tonya Boyd-Cannon, it will surely be a performance to keep you on your feet.”
