State Police Stop In Worcester Ends In Gun Charge For Webster Man

The 24-year-old was caught with a 9mm handgun during a stop along Route 9.

WORCESTER, MA — State police arrested a 24-year-old from Webster on gun charges after a traffic stop last week along Route 9.

A state trooper pulled over an SUV along Main Street near Ludlow Street on Feb. 7 after noticing the vehicle didn't have an inspection sticker. The trooper detained the driver because he did not have a license, police said.

Police also discovered a man in the back seat had a warrant. Police also found a 9mm handgun in the SUV, which police believe belonged to the Webster man.

He was arrested on charges of possession of a gun and ammunition without a license, illegal possession of a gun, carrying a large capacity feeding device and improper storage of a gun, according to state police.
