WORCESTER, MA — A motorcyclist died over the weekend along Grafton Street after an SUV driver hit him, according to Worcester police.

The collision happened near 9 p.m. at the intersection of Grafton Street and Sunderland Road. The SUV driver made a left turn onto Sunderland and ran over the motorcyclist, who was traveling southbound.

According to police, the 24-year-old motorcyclist was trapped underneath the SUV, and died after firefighters freed him.

Worcester police are still investigating the collision. Police did not immediately announce any charges for the driver, but said the driver stayed on the scene during the investigation.

The motorcyclist's death was the first of two fatal traffic incidents on Saturday. Five teenagers in a stolen SUV crashed into two other cars at Chandler and Main streets, resulting in one teen girl dying due to her injuries.
