Table Talk Pies Celebrates the Opening of New Facility in South Worcester Industrial Park

On Thursday, September 28th, Greater Worcester leadership and community members joined President and Owner Harry Kokkinis to celebrate the opening of Table Talk Pies’ new 50,000 square-foot manufacturing facility.

Worcester-based Table Talk Pies, Inc. famous for its signature 4-inch snack pies is expanding with the opening of a new manufacturing facility in the South Worcester Industrial Park (SWIP), which has been vacant for 20 years. The new impressive facility will allow the company to increases production capacity to create over 4 million 4-inch pies per week and will add over 50 jobs to its current 300 full-time and seasonal staff. Founded in 1924 by two Greek immigrants, the business has become one of the country’s leading pie companies with products sold in hundreds of supermarkets throughout the country. Since its start, the Worcester homegrown company has held a firm commitment to producing the highest quality pies while serving its local neighborhood.

Table Talk Pies President Harry Kokkinis partnered with Worcester development firm, Chacharone Properties, in the construction of the new building. Chacharone aided by a 20-year TIF plan, built the $5 million building, and Table Talk Pies invested more than $4 million in new state-of-the-art equipment, including tunnel ovens from another Massachusetts manufacturer, BABBCO. While continuing to make pies at the old Worcester plant, the new facility will give the company a significant presence in SWIP. The move will help bring new businesses to the area, create more jobs and improve the neighborhood’s well-being.

The company also has expanded the brand by re-opening the Table Talk retail store on Green Street in Worcester Center. It’s the first storefront that the company has had since the mid-1980s.
