Tech Company Moves HQ From Marlborough To Worcester
ComputerVault will lease space at One Mercantile, previously the home of Unum's Worcester workforce.

WORCESTER, MA — A tech company previously based in Marlborough will officially open its new Worcester headquarters next week.
ComputerVault in 2021 signed a lease for about 5,600 square-feet inside One Mercantile, previously the Unum headquarters. The company will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new office on Feb. 23.
“Just as we are proud to call Worcester the home, we’re equally committed to giving back to this community we all share. Worcester is certainly on the rise, and we’re proud to play a part in its growth," CEO Peo Nathan said in a news release.

The company was previously headquartered inside a Route 20 office building in Marlborough near the Apex Entertainment center. ComputerVault provides virtual desktops and server space to businesses.
ComputerVault will be leasing a fraction of the 80,000 square-foot One Mercantile building, which Unum moved into in 2013. The company announced in July 2020 that it would leaving the building, removing about 400 workers from the downtown area.

Unum received a tax increment financing (TIF) deal worth about $1.35 million. In late 2020, city officials demanded the company find businesses to lease One Mercantile, or risk losing the TIF.
