Teen Shot Near Crompton Park Over Weekend

WORCESTER, MA — Worcester police are investigating a shooting that occurred Saturday morning near Crompton Park that left a teenager injured.

Just before noon Saturday, police found the 16-year-old victim near the intersection of Millbury Street and Fifth Avenue, a little less than a mile south of the park. Police treated the teen's wound, and he was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Worcester police did not immediately announce any arrests in connection to the shooting.

This is the second time since May a 16-year-old has been wounded in a shooting at Crompton Park. At night on May 7, police went to the park after getting an alert from a gunshot detection device and found the teen wounded at the park's playground.

About a week later, police arrested another 16-year-old in connection to the shooting.
