4 Teens Charged After Brick Attacks In Worcester

The teens threw bricks at 19 vehicles Saturday afternoon, leaving at least one person with serious injuries.

WORCESTER, MA — Four teenagers were arrested and charged Saturday evening after they were caught throwing bricks at cars on the east side of Worcester, police said.

The teens hit up to 19 vehicles with bricks, police said. In the first attack, which occurred just before 4 p.m., a brick went through the windshield of a car along Plantation Street, seriously injuring the 37-year-old driver.

Worcester police used social media to alert residents about the attacks, asking for help tracking down a red SUV. But just before 6 p.m., police said they had found the SUV and arrested two boys who had fled after ditching the vehicle along Ashwood Street.

The 15 and 16-year-old boys were taken to jail along with a 15-year-old girl and a 16-year-old girl also riding in the SUV. All four were charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, mayhem, conspiracy, 19 counts of malicious damage to a motor vehicle, throwing missiles at a train or bus and resisting arrest.

The 16-year-old boy was also charged for being in possession of brass knuckles, police said.
