Trillium Buys Spencer Trappist Monk Brewery For Canton HQ
Trillium Brewing Co. is considered one of the top beer makers in the U.S. and recently opened a new flagship site in Canton.

SPENCER, MA — Canton-based Trillium Brewing Co. has purchased a former Spencer Brewery's infrastructure, but does not plan to open a location in central Massachusetts.
Trillium announced Monday that it had acquired the Spencer Trappist Brewery’s brewhouse and equipment, which will be installed at Trillium's new flagship campus in Canton. That move will allow Trillium to sell its former main brewery, which is also located in Canton.
The St. Joseph's Abbey monks announced in mid-May they would close their 36,000 square-foot Route 31 brewery, which originally opened in 2014.

Trillium opened a new campus in 2021 at a former Reebok campus along Royall Street in Canton. The brewer is now accepting proposals for its former 25,000 square-foot Shawmut Road facility in Canton, which comes complete with production and canning equipment.
Trillium also operates taprooms near Fenway Park and in Boston's Seaport area.
