Two New Exhibits Open At ArtsWorcester
ArtsWorceseter will kick off its new season with two exhibitions: 'Material Needs' and 'Collage Variations.'

WORCESTER, MA - From ArtsWorcester: Two exhibitions will kick off the new season at ArtsWorcester on Friday, September 8, between 7:00 and 9:00 PM. At 660 Main Street, Jennifer Davis Carey, Katie Dye, Ralph Ferro, Casey Hickey, Tomoko Sakai, Rebecca Smith, Pamela Stolz, Susan Swinand, and Jill Watts will all have work on view in Material Needs. These artists all received grants ranging from $500 to $1,500, supported by an anonymous donor, to create work that was new to them and new to the city. Across the way at 657 Main Street, Collage Variations will showcase works by Susan Black, Lizzie Fortin, and Leonard Gerwick.
The opening reception are free and open to all, and will feature refreshments from Figs and Pigs. ArtsWorcester's Annual Meeting will precede the opening, beginning at 6:00 PM. At that meeting, Roger Hankins, Director of the Cantor Art Gallery at the College of the Holy Cross, will receive the 36th ArtsWorcester Award for his extraordinary contributions to arts and culture in the city. The Annual Meeting is also open and free to all. Parking is free in the paved lots belonging to the Freemasons, at Ionic and Beacon Street.
