UMass Amherst Student From Worcester Found Dead On Campus
Erick Kangethe was found late Wednesday near McGuirk Alumni Stadium, according to the college.
WORCESTER, MA — A junior at UMass Amherst found dead near a campus stadium has been identified as being from Worcester. Erick Kang'Ethe was found near McGuirk Stadium on Wednesday night.
Police are investigating the incident as an unattended death, and do suspect criminal involvement, college officials have said.
“We extend our sincere condolences to Erick’s family and friends. The Student Loss and Remembrance page will be updated with any arrangements that the family wishes to share with the University.” Assistant Vice Chancellor David Vaillancourt said in a statement.
Kang'Ethe was a graduate of Doherty Memorial High School in Worcester, but was originally from Kenya, according to MassLive.
