Unarmed Robbery Suspect Arrested: Worcester Police
A call for a disorderly person led police to a suspect they were seeking in an unarmed robbery case.

WORCESTER, MA — A complaint about a disorderly person led police to a suspect in an unarmed robbery incident.
Around 3 a.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, , Worcester police responded to 353 Grafton Street, the Honey Farms market, for a report of an unarmed robbery. The store clerk told police that a white male wearing a dark colored jacket with a hood pulled up over his head came into the store and asked where the bottle water was located. The man then headed to the counter with his purchase and handed the clerk a torn dollar bill. The clerk opened the register and tried to tape the bill together when the suspect reached over the counter and grabbed the cash in the drawer, according to police. The clerk tried to shut the drawer, but the thief made off with an undisclosed amount.
A detective later viewed a copy of surveillance video, and got several responses from other departments that the suspect was Jonathan Woodman, 32, Queen Street, Worcester, and got a warrant for his arrest.
Then on Wednesday, March 29, at approximately 8:45 p.m., an officer was called to 25 Queen St. for a disorderly person. When they got there, they encountered Woodman, who officers had just read about on the department journal that he was a suspect in an unarmed robbery. He was arrested and arraigned on Thursday.
