Underage Drinking Sting Catches Two Local Businesses

The underage sting visited 30 businesses and restaurants in Worcester.

WORCESTER, MA- Worcester Police Department's Alcohol Enforcement Unit conducted an underage sting operation throughout the city on Tuesday. The operation visited thirty businesses and restaurants and undercover minors were able to buy alcohol at two of the businesses.

Investigators worked with two underage college students, ages 18 and 19-years-old who were attending local colleges, to complete the sting. Police said investigators saw more compliance from businesses during this sting compared to past operations.

Police said the purpose of underage sting operations is to bring awareness to business owners about the consequences of selling alcohol to underage customers and patrons.
