Help Worcester Women With March On Washington, Go There 'In Spirit'
Organizers are holding a sign making session, and an opportunity for your name to make it down to D.C., even if you cannot.

WORCESTER, MA — Later this month, hundreds from the Worcester area will join the thousands heading to Washington D.C. for the Women's March on Washington.
The event on Saturday, Jan. 21, was planned, according to the official announcement, to "send a bold message to our new government on their first day in office, and to the world that women's rights are human rights." Not only did she want to attend but she also wanted to play an active role in motivating supporters in her own city.
Regional organizer Karen Sharpe coordinated several buses for the trip, and mobilized the area with support for the march by aligning herself with the national cause, and creating a local Facebook page for those in the Worcester County area who are interested and supportive of the event. The page also serves as an informational hub if other options for transportation become available, too.
For those who are unable to attend, there are still ways to get involved. Sharpe urges supporters to check the Facebook page for gatherings, and to leave your own messages of support and information.
Also, this just in: sign making and information sessions are planned for Saturday, Jan. 14, at the First Unitarian Church of Worcester, 90 Main St., at 4 p.m., and Thursday, Jan. 19, from 6-8 p.m. at C.C. Lowell at 455 Pleasant St. All are welcome. A limited number of foam core posters and markers will be available.
