WORCESTER, MA — Welcome to the Worcester Animal Rescue League's Spot on Worcester's Patch. Each week we'll be highlighting an adoptable pet and sharing upcoming events, pet tips and tricks, and more. Since our founding in 1912, the Worcester Animal Rescue League (WARL) has been dedicated to the care of the animals who provide so much for their human companions. Founded initially by a group of women determined to save overworked and abused draft horses, WARL’s services have expanded to protect, care, and love the pets throughout Central Massachusetts. Our staff, volunteers, and foster homes are dedicated champions to this cause and act as caretakers for the animals and educators to their human counterparts.
WARL is a limited-intake animal shelter, which enables us to eliminate time and space limits on adoptable animals. As long as the animal is happy and healthy, and their quality of life is not compromised, the animal stays at WARL until they are adopted. Worcester Animal Rescue League is committed to making adoption a success for both the adopter and the animal.Other services at WARL include dog boarding, lost and found, spay/neuter and vaccine clinics, volunteer and foster opportunities, events, training, and more.Worcester Animal Rescue League is a private, non-profit organization, and receives no government or city funding. The costs to care for animals, provide medical attention and medicine, feed, shelter, spay and neuter, and prepare for adoption far outweighs what we take in for fees.
The shelter depends on the generous support frompeople who believe in nurturing a community where every living being matters.Ways you can help:
