WARL Shelter Stories: Meet Nancy, the Last of the Cats From a Hoarding Case
Nancy is the last of 28 cats rescued from a terrible hoarding situation.

WORCESTER, MA — In November, 28 cats were rescued from a terrible hoarding situation on Everard Street where they had minimal attention. It made them small for their ages and painfully shy.
With the help and dedication of staff and foster parents, the cats learned to trust people and act like normal cats. For the cats' well-being, they are living in the shelter's house, because cages upset them, and it comforts them to be with other Everard cats. She is the last to be adopted.
At 6 years old, Nancy is likely the mother of all the Birman cats in the Everard home. Nancy is understandably tired of motherhood. She enjoys warm, comfortable beds, long naps and food. Initially, she tolerated being pet until she realized people have the magic touch around her ears. Nancy can be adopted alone, but she would benefit from living with another cat or two.
