Warm Temperature Record Broken in Worcester

The record for high temperatures was last broken on this day in 1980.

WORCESTER, MA — Never mind needing a shovel; apparently it's time for the picnic basket. The last time the high temperature record for this day in Worcester was broken was when "Escape (The Pina Colada Song)" topped the pop charts.

Worcester Airport recorded a temperature of 57 degrees at 12:07 on Thursday, Jan. 12, which surpasses a record set on this day in 1980, when it was 55 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
