WORCESTER, MA — A broad section of eastern Massachusetts will be under a winter weather advisory on Thursday with forecasts calling for freezing rain and icing across the region.

The advisory covers all of Worcester County, Middlesex County north of Holliston and east of Route 128 and parts of Essex County west of I-95. Freezing conditions will begin during rush hour Thursday, leading to a "light glaze" of ice accumulation, according to the National Weather Service.

"Light rain showers will transition to areas of light freezing rain and freezing drizzle between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. Thursday. Areas of light freezing rain and freezing drizzle may continue Thursday afternoon," the weather advisory says.
