Monson, MA (May 23, 2022) — Despite the heat, Travelnitch saw an outpouring of support on Sunday for the launch of their new World on Wheels program. More than 100 friends and neighbors made the trek to Silver Bell Farm in Monson for a morning of free family fun.

The World on Wheels is one way in which Travelnitch, a Monson-based nonprofit, is inspiring kids through travel. Their new mobile market offers discounted books, games, and crafts to encourage families to explore the world from home. During this public event, Travelnitch also offered free arts & crafts, story time around the world, and Capture the Flag—a travel trivia hunt for kids.

“Hosting this event in my hometown was important to me. As a frequent visitor to Silver Bell Farm, I wanted to share the magic of this place with families who have never been,” said Amanda Renna, Founder & CEO at Travelnitch. “I was thrilled to meet kids from all over Western Mass—Belchertown, Agawam, Springfield, and Ludlow, among others.”

This event was supported in part by a grant from the Monson Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency. The World on Wheels has big plans to hit the road all summer long. Proceeds will be reinvested in Travelnitch programs, providing virtual and real-world travel opportunities for kids living in underserved communities.

Renna says she was so overcome by the show of support that she can’t wait to get back out there, “The feedback was overwhelmingly positive. So many kids and parents were asking about our next event.” Travelnitch has plans to attend Summerfest in July and is also the recipient of several smaller grants to host events in Amherst and Southbridge.
