Where To Vote Early In Worcester This Week
The September primary is just about two weeks away, but early in-person voting began Aug. 22.

WORCESTER, MA — Although you can vote by mail right now and for the remainder of the year, early in-person voting for the September primary began on Aug. 22.
Early in-person voting will be spread across five polling locations in Worcester for the September primary:
- Aug. 24, 25, Living Word Church of Worcester, 30 Tyler Prentice Road — 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Aug. 26, YMCA Central Branch, 766 Main St. — 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Aug. 27, 28, May Street Building Worcester State University, 280 May St. — 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The main event in the Sept. 1 Democratic primary is the Senate race between incumbent U.S. Sen. Ed Markey and U.S. Rep. Joseph Kennedy III. There's also a race for the Governor's Council between Padraic Rafferty and Paul DePalo. There is also a race to be the Worcester County Register of Probate between John Dolan III and Kasia Wennerberg.
Republicans also have a U.S. Senate primary race. Shiva Ayyadurai and Kevin O'Connor are running against each other for the chance to face off against either Markey or Kennedy in the November general election. The current Worcester Register of Probate Stephanie Fattman is running for reelection unopposed in the Republican primary.
Neither the Green Rainbow nor the Libertarian parties are running candidates in this primary.
The deadline to register to vote in the September primary was Aug. 22, and the deadline to apply for a vote-by-mail ballot is Aug. 26.
