Wholesale Restaurant Retailer To Open In Worcester
The restaurant supplier will become the first announced tenant at Worcester's GreenTech Park.
WORCESTER, MA — A wholesale restaurant supplier will become the first announced tenant at Worcester's GreenTech Park.
Restaurant Depot has received site plan approval from the Worcester Planning Board for a 50,000-square-foot facility at the 51-acre GreenTech Park, located on the former Saint-Gobain and Norton Company campus, according to the Worcester Business Development Corporation.
The WBDC acquired the site in 2022 and is redeveloping it as a modern, advanced manufacturing and light-industrial development. The project is also part of the broader Greendale Revitalization Initiative, a plan covering the Greendale and Burncoat neighborhoods in northern Worcester.
"This approval represents more than just the arrival of our first tenant, it validates our vision for GreenTech Park as a catalyst for economic revitalization in the Greendale neighborhood and across Worcester," WBDC President Craig Blais said in the announcement.
Restaurant Depot serves restaurants and food service businesses. There are at least seven other Restaurant Depot locations in the Bay State, including in Andover, Avon, Chicopee, Everett, Milford, Needham and New Bedford.
The WBDC said the store is expected to bring jobs, expand Worcester's tax base and support food service businesses throughout Central Massachusetts.
GreenTech Park has been split into two development areas.
The New Bond Street frontage is slated for commercial uses that complement the surrounding neighborhood and West Boylston Street corridor, while land along Interstate 190 remains focused on advanced manufacturing and light industrial development.
The organization said Restaurant Depot is expected to help spur additional commercial development along West Boylston Street as GreenTech Park moves forward.
