Woman Arrested After Worcester Plant Shop Break-In

The woman broke in to the Seed To Stem store, which sells a variety of high-end plants and home goods in the Kelley Square area.

WORCESTER, MA — A Fitchburg woman was arrested and charged Monday after she broke in to the Seed To Stem store in Kelley Square and stole several items, according to police.

Worcester police reported Tara Newman, 39, entered the Green Street store just before 12:30 p.m. Monday. The store is closed on Mondays, according to the company website.

Police said Newman stole "a large amount of merchandise" and walked away from the scene. Police caught up to her along Front Street across from Worcester City Hall.

Newman was charged with two counts of breaking and entering to commit a felony and larceny in a building, police said.
