Woman Killed Crossing Mass Pike In Millbury
The incident happened at 11 p.m. Friday in the westbound lanes of I-90 after the woman was involved in a car crash.
MILLBURY, MA — A woman crossing the Mass Pike near Worcester on Friday was hit and killed by a driver. The woman has not been identified, and police have not made any arrests.
The incident happened at around 11 p.m. in the eastbound lanes. A 27-year-old woman from Douglas was involved in a car crash. She got out of her car and tried to cross the highway, but was hit by a 54-year-old man from Oxford driving a Ford sedan.
The woman was taken to St. Vincent's Hospital in Worcester, where she was pronounced dead.
On Saturday morning, police were still investigating why the woman tried to cross the freeway. The incident shut down the westbound lanes until around 1 a.m. Saturday.
