Man Who Killed Ex In Restaurant Attacked Her Before: DA

The woman who was stabbed inside of a Worcester restaurant was identified as Amanda Dabrowski.

WORCESTER, MA — The woman killed inside of a Worcester restaurant on July Fourth has been identified. Amanda Dabrowski, 31, was stabbed by an ex-boyfriend while inside O'Connor's Restaurant on Thursday night, authorities said. Her ex, Carlos Asencio, 28, of Derry, New Hampshire, was arrested and charged with murder.

Dabrowski was at the restaurant with members of a newly formed book club.

Police said Asencio walked into O'Connor's Restaurant shortly before 8 p.m. and stabbed Dabrowski. A customer, identified as Allen Corson Jr., suffered a stab wound when he tried to intervene, police said. The man's injuries were not life-threatening, police said. Police arrived to find Asencio being held down by several customers.

This wasn't the first time Asencio attacked Dabrowski, according to prosecutors. Asencio was also wanted on charges by police in Ayer going back to April, when authorities said he attacked her with a stun gun after breaking into her East Main Street apartment.

The Middlesex County District Attorney’s office didn't name Dabrowski at the time but said Asencio wore a mask and carried a handgun and a stun gun during the attack. According to the statement, the two fought but were not seriously injured. After the incident, Ascencio left and ran away to Canada and boarded a flight to Mexico. He recently returned to the U.S.

Asencio was charged with murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, armed assault with intent to murder, disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace and resisting arrest. Police said he also had a warrant.
