Woman Slashed in the Face and Hands; Worcester Woman Arrested
A woman is facing charges that she allegedly stabbed another outside of a market on Main Street in Worcester.
WORCESTER, MA — A woman is facing assault charges after she allegedly stabbed another woman in the face and hands during an argument outside of a market on Main Street on Friday.
Police responded around 11:30 a.m. to the area of 927 Main St. for reports of a fight that ensued outside. They found a 37-year-old woman who suffered a slash below her eye and cuts to her hands. She was transported to a local hospital to be treated for her injuries, which are considered to be non-life threatening.
Police learned that the stabbing occurred as the result of a physical altercation outside of Bethel Market on Main Street. During the altercation, Rebecca Hersh, of Worcester, allegedly pulled out a knife and slashed the victim.
Police found Hersh walking on Main Street near Ripley Street.
Hersh, 33, 8 Courtland St., was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
Officers received a detailed description of the suspect and were able to locate her walking on Main Street near Ripley Street. The suspect was identified as 33-year-old Rebecca Hersh of
Worcester.
