Worcester Is The 54th Best Place To Live In The Country

Worcester makes U.S. News' "100 Best Places To Live" list.

WORCESTER, MA — Two Massachusetts cities made U.S. News & World Report's Best Places to Live list of 100, and Worcester is one of them.

Ranking at number 54 on the list, Worcester this year has an overall score of 6.5 out of 10. Boston came in at number 8 in the list, and Austin, TX, topped it.

"U.S. News analyzed 100 metro areasin the United States to find the best places to live based on quality of life and the job market in each metro area, as well as the value of living there and people's desire to live there," according to the report.

Coming in just behind Santa Rosa, CA, and Cincinnati, OH, author Laura Richards writes, "With its affordable housing, green parks, quality hospitals and proximity to a dozen highly esteemed colleges and universities, there is a unique vitality to this metro area. Worcester provides an excellent cultural life, including amazing restaurants, concert and theatre venues and the Worcester Art Museum, which houses original works by Monet, Gauguin and Degas."
