WORCESTER, MA — A melding of two popular Worcester bakeries may take place this week.

On Thursday, the Board of License Commissioners will discuss a transfer of BirchTree Bread Company to a limited liability company managed by Alexis Kelleher, the owner of the Crust Bakeshop bakeries in Worcester.

BirchTree owners Robert Fecteau and Avra Hoffman told the Worcester Business Journal last week they are "extremely happy to have found the right folks" to continue their business.

BirchTree opened in 2014 in a remodeled mill building along Green Street. The bakery has since become a popular spot for baked goods, coffee and pizza. The restaurant also hosts live music.

Kelleher began working at Crust in 2014, and bought the business in 2017, according to the company. Crust has two locations: one along Main Street and a second along West Boylston Street across from Shaw's.
