Worcester Cancels School; Parking Ban; Buses On Snow Routes
Worcester city officials are warning of extremely slippery roads after a storm swept through the area overnight.

WORCESTER, MA — Worcester canceled school on Thursday morning, the first snow day since a round of storms in December. Not much snow fell overnight, but streets were slippery due to some icing.
Mixed precipitation was expected to last through the morning rush hour, according to the National Weather Service.
The school district also canceled Head Start, and before and after school activities. The district's administration building will be open to employees only.

There will be no school in Worcester today. Road conditions are extremely dangerous due to icing and salt treatment continues throughout the City. Please avoid travel if at all possible and use caution walking if you must go outside.

Worcester also declared a parking ban Wednesday at 8 p.m. City parking garages are free during the ban. WRTA buses were running on snow routes Thursday, and the elder shopper shuttle was canceled.
