WORCESTER, MA — Worcester will host three free pop-up events this week featuring flu shots, coronavirus tests and pandemic supplies like hand sanitizer and masks.

Worcester has been holding these pop-up testing events for weeks, but there are also several permanent free coronavirus testing facilities in the city through the state's Stop the Spread program.

Here are the free testing and vaccine events this week (bring an insurance card for a flu shot):

  • Oct. 13, 1 to 5 p.m., Great Brook Valley, 19 Tacoma St.
  • Oct. 14, 2 to 6 p.m., City Hall Plaza, 455 Main St.
  • Oct. 14, noon to 4 p.m., Community Healthlink, 72 Jaques Ave.

Worcester is still on the list of high-risk communities in the state, which means the city is seeing about eight or more new coronavirus cases per day. City officials are highlighting that more young people are contracting the virus, and they have launched the "You Have the Power to Safe a Life" media campaign to educate residents about stopping the spread.
