Worcester Hosting 2 More Free Coronavirus Test Events

Free coronavirus testing will return to Main South on Wednesday following a slight drop in cases recently.

WORCESTER, MA — Two more free coronavirus testing events are coming to Worcester this week.

The first event will happen from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Main South Community Development Corporation, 875 Main St., on Wednesday. The second will be held at the CommunityHealthlink office at 72 Jaques Ave. on Thursday.

Worcester has been holding popup testing events to complement ongoing testing provided under the state's Stop the Spread program.

On Thursday, Worcester reported a drop in coronavirus cases for the first time in about a month. The city added 70 new cases over the week. Cases rose in each of the three previous weeks, according to city data.

Worcester has counted 5,647 cases over the course of the pandemic.
