WORCESTER, MA — A Worcester ice cream shop has a place on a statewide map for residents looking to turn dessert into a summer road trip.

Gibby's Famous Ice Cream, at 42 Sunderland Rd., is listed as a Central Massachusetts stop on the Massachusetts Ice Cream Trail, a state-backed guide launched in 2024 to promote ice cream shops, farm stands, and dairy farms that use Massachusetts dairy products, according to GBH.

Gibby's is one of about two dozen Central Massachusetts stops on the trail. Other nearby entries include Elmhurst Dairy Farms in Millbury, Swirls & Scoops in Grafton, Rota Spring Farm in Sterling, West End Creamery in Whitinsville and Trombetta's Farm in Marlborough.

The Worcester shop offers more than 60 flavors of fresh, homemade ice cream.

Gibson Farms, connected to the Gibby's name, describes itself as a family-owned foodservice distributor that has served businesses since 1923. The company says it distributes dairy products, ice cream mix, meats, produce and other foodservice products.

State officials created the trail to highlight local dairy farms and ice cream businesses while encouraging residents and visitors to explore Massachusetts communities, according to GBH. The Office of Travel and Tourism advises visitors to check each business's hours before making a trip.
