Worcester Library Card Sign-Ups To Benefit Shelter Pets In September
A new Worcester Public Library card will offer an extra benefit for shelter animals this September.
WORCESTER, MA — A new Worcester Public Library card will offer an extra benefit for shelter animals this September.
The Friends of Worcester Public Library will donate $1 to the Worcester Animal Rescue League for each new library card issued during Library Card Sign-up Month, up to $1,000, the library said. New cardholders will also receive a $2 coupon for the Friends Bookstore.
“Every new library card changes two lives,” Worcester Public Library Executive Director Jason Homer said. “It opens the door to everything the library has to offer for one person, while this September, it also helps provide support to animals in our community.”
A library card provides free access to books, ebooks, audiobooks, streaming media, museum passes, educational resources and programs. Cardholders can use the library’s seven locations and two bookmobiles.
The September campaign, called “Get Your Paws on a Library Card,” will also feature adoptable animals, library services and the Friends Bookstore on social media and at library branches.
Residents without a library card can sign up at any Worcester Public Library location during September. More information is available through the Worcester Public Library.
