Worcester Library Foundation Meeting Will Include Service Award
The Worcester Public Library Foundation's annual meeting this week will include the Dr. William F. and Betty O'Neil Service Award ceremony.

WORCESTER, MA — The Worcester Public Library Foundation will hold its annual meeting this weekend, featuring local officials like acting City Manager Eric Batista and Health and Human Services Commissioner Matilde Castiel; and the awarding of the Dr. William F. and Betty O’Neil Service Award.

The Worcester Public Library Foundation will hold their Annual Meeting on Sept. 22, 2022 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Arthur M. and Martha R. Pappas Children’s Center at the Worcester Public Library, 3 Salem Square. The event will begin with a brief business meeting, which will include the President’s Report; Nominating Report, including the approval of new board members; Report on the State of the Foundation; Report on the State of the Library; and comments by Acting City Manager Eric Batista.
2022 Dr. William F. and Betty O’Neil Service Award
The program will include the presentation of the 2022 Dr. William F. and Betty O’Neil Service Award to Stephanie E. Pasha, in recognition of her tireless advocacy, generosity and volunteer service to the WPL Foundation and Worcester Public Library Board of Directors. The award is presented annually to an individual or group for their dedication and service to the WPL Foundation, the Worcester Public Library, and its constituents.
The program will conclude with guest speaker, Dr. Matilde Castiel, Commissioner of Health and Human Services for the City of Worcester, who will discuss her work in our community with those that have been marginalized, and how the public library factors into public health.
A reception will follow the program.
