Worcester Man Accused Of Seriously Injuring Baby By Shaking Him

A Worcester man was ordered held without bail after being accused of shaking his three-month-old, causing a hemorrhage.

WORCESTER, MA—A Worcester man was held without bail after a dangerousness hearing that he had shaken his three-month-old baby so hard that it caused a brain bleed.

Joseph Page, 34, Seward Street, is accused of shaking the infant and forcing him into a baby swing, causing serious injury, according to the Worcester Telegram and Gazette. Page will be held for up to 120 days while awaiting trial on assault and battery charges on a child causing substantial injury.

The child suffered an acute subdural hemorrhage, and was released into foster care after treatment at UMass Memorial Medical Center.

Page reportedly admitted to police that he was frustrated that the baby was fussing and crying, according to Fox 25.

The incident happened on the evening of April 21 while Page's girlfriend, and also the baby's mother, worked, reports the Telegram.
