An autopsy found that the child's head and facial injuries were consistent with "two-story fall and not a fall from a table," WCVB 5-ABC reported.

Hospital staff found that the child had several bruises on different parts of her body, which Ortiz reportedly said were from the girl falling off the table on numerous occasions, according to WHDH 7-News.
Ortiz was charged with assault and battery on a child with substantial injury, domestic assault and battery, and reckless endangerment of a child.
He was held without bail and will be back in court next week for a dangerousness hearing.
