Worcester Man Charged With Stabbing

People in a group of 15 to s0 people were trying to carry the stabbed victim to safety.

WORCESTER, MA — Worcester police arrested a man on Wednesday night and charged him with the stabbing of a 22-year-old man on Oread Street. 37-year-old Steven Jenkins was arrested and is facing multiple charges including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and armed assault to murder.

Witnesses told police there was a fight on Oread Street between Jenkins and the 22-year-old which lead to the stabbing.

Police found the victim while on patrol around the Main South neighborhood. Police said they saw a large group of 15 to 20 people coming from a parking lot. When officers got closer to the group, they noticed people trying to carry the 22-year-old who had multiple stab wounds.

Police said the man was rushed to a local hospital to be treated for serious injuries. He is expected to survive.
