Worcester Man Charged In Weekend Main South Shooting

The Sunday morning shooting along Main Street left a 22-year-old injured, Worcester police said.

WORCESTER, MA — Worcester police have arrested and charged a local man following a Sunday morning shooting along Main Street that left another man wounded.

The shooting happened around 11 a.m. Sunday about a block north of the Clark University campus. Worcester police arrived to find a 22-year-old man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment, police said.

On Tuesday, police arrested a 39-year-old Providence Street man in connection to the shooting. He was charged with armed assault to murder, aggravated assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery with a gun, armed assault and battery by gun, and a host of weapons possession violations.
