Worcester Man Is Connecticut River Drowning Victim
The 35-year-old died over the weekend while swimming near Turners Falls.
TURNERS FALLS, MA — A 35-year-old Worcester man has been identified as the victim in a weekend drowning in the Connecticut River.
Welman Hernandez-Diaz was swimming near Turners Falls on Saturday morning when he slipped underwater, according to the Daily Hampshire Gazette.
Local police and firefighters pulled Hernandez-Diaz from the water shortly after, but he never regained consciousness, the newspaper reported.
