Worcester Man Faces Gun Charges After Stolen Vehicle Investigation
Police said officers found a loaded firearm with a scratched-off serial number on a 20-year-old.
WORCESTER, MA — A Worcester man faces charges after an incident on Main Street this week.
Dwayne Linder, 20, faces several firearm charges after police investigated a vehicle parked in a no-trespassing area on Main Street, authorities said. Police said they found a firearm with a scratched serial number on him shortly after 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
Linder did not have a carry license and was linked to a vehicle reported stolen, according to Worcester police.

Officers initially saw three women and a man inside the vehicle, police said. The man had left by the time officers approached.
The three women could not identify the vehicle’s owner, police said. Officers determined the vehicle had been stolen and arrested the women on charges of receiving a stolen motor vehicle and trespassing.

Police did not release the women's names.
Linder later returned to the scene, where officers found the firearm on him, police said.
He was charged with carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number, using a motor vehicle without authority and other firearm offenses.
