Worcester Man Indicted On Federal Gun, Fentanyl Charges

A Worcester man accused of selling firearms and fentanyl to confidential informants has been indicted on federal charges.

WORCESTER, MA — A Worcester man accused of selling firearms and fentanyl to confidential informants has been indicted on federal charges.

Omar Ramos-Jimenez, 27, was indicted on charges of dealing firearms without a license and distributing a controlled substance, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Massachusetts. Prosecutors say the transactions occurred in Worcester.

Ramos-Jimenez was accused of selling several firearms and fentanyl to confidential informants and sending messages advertising guns for sale, according to federal charging documents.

He was initially arrested in May as one of eight people charged following an investigation into alleged drug and firearms trafficking in and around Worcester. Authorities said the investigation involved undercover officers and confidential informants.

A conviction for distributing a controlled substance carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $1 million. Dealing firearms without a license carries a maximum sentence of five years and a fine of up to $250,000.
