Worcester Man Stole Ambulance For 'No Legitimate Reason': Police
Paramedics in Worcester responded to a 911 call on Thursday night. When they went back to their ambulance, it was gone.
WORCESTER, MA — A 50-year-old city man was arrested and charged on Thursday after he stole an ambulance, according to police.
Close to 7 p.m. Thursday, paramedics responded to a home along Oriol Drive. When they went back to their ambulance, it was gone, police said.
A short time later, the vehicle was found parked outside UMass Memorial Medical Center, police said. Glenwood Street resident Bruce Monroe was in the driver's seat, police said, but could not give a "legitimate reason" why he had taken the ambulance.
Monroe was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle and providing a false name to police.
