Worcester Man Wounded In Main South Shooting: Police

The weekend shooting was one of two incidents over the weekend involving guns, police reported.

WORCESTER, MA — Worcester police responded to two incidents involving guns over the weekend, including a shooting in the Main South neighborhood.

Just before midnight on Friday, police went to a parking lot along Hammond Street after a report of a shooting. The 29-year-old victim was taken to a local hospital, but police did not immediately announce any arrests connected to the shooting.

In a separate incident, police arrested a 24-year-old Berkeley Street man just before 1:30 a.m. Saturday outside a bar along Water Street. The 24-year-old threatened another man with a gun, according to police. He was arrested on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, using a gun in a felony and multiple weapons law violations.
