Worcester Men Had Over 2 Kilos Of Cocaine Mailed To Them: Police

A suspicious package from San Juan, Puerto Rico contained cocaine and was to be delivered to one of the men's homes.

WORCESTER, MA — Two Worcester men are facing drug trafficking charges after a package containing more than two kilos of cocaine was set to be shipped to their Worcester address from San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The two men, Carmelo Andujar, 40, and Ernest R. Daigle, 62, are both charged with trafficking in a class B controlled substance over 200 grams and conspiracy to violate the controlled substance laws.

The investigation started on August 4 when authorities in San Juan, Puerto Rico found a
suspicious package bound for Daigle’s address in Worcester. After the United Parcel Service alerted Home Land Security Investigations, they found the package contained more than two kilograms of cocaine, according to the district attorney's office.

A controlled delivery of the package caught Andujar picking up the package at Daigle’s home on Friday and he was arrested. Daigle was arrested a short time later in Shrewsbury, according to the district attorney's office.

Both men are scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Worcester Central District Court.
