Worcester Mercantile Center To Host Free Coronavirus Testing
The lone pop-up testing and flu shot event in Worcester this week will happen Thursday.
WORCESTER, MA — This week's free coronavirus testing — and flu vaccine — event will be held downtown at the Mercantile Center.
Worcester has been hosting weekly pop-up testing events for months, in addition to testing at permanent locations under the Stop the Spread program.
This week's testing event will happen on Thursday from noon to 4 p.m. located at the complex at Front and Mercantile streets. Flu shots are available if you bring an insurance card.
Worcester city officials on Oct. 29 reported 236 new coronavirus cases over the preceding week, the highest weekly number in months. Health officials believe the virus is rising again in Worcester among young people, and in household where masks aren't being worn or people aren't social distancing.
