Worcester NAACP Postpones Cookout Due To Weather

The cookout at Institute Park was set for Saturday, but will move to a later date in August.

WORCESTER, MA — A community cookout sponsored by the Worcester Branch NAACP will move back one weekend due to the weekend forecast.

The event will be held at Institute Park on Aug. 13. Saturday's forecast calls for temperatures near 90 degrees, plus a 50 percent chance of rain. The event was first announced in July with a planned rain date of Aug. 13.

The cookout will include free hamburgers and hot dogs, music by Charles Ketter and DJs Chuck Chillin and KB Barnes, spoken word poetry performances — and a bounce house for kids.

The event runs noon to 4 p.m. on Aug. 13 at Institute Park, 82 Salisbury St.
