Worcester Police, Feds Charge Man After Finding Gun, Shrooms

The 25-year-old was arrested Wednesday afternoon during a raid along Bridgeport Street.

WORCESTER, MA — Worcester police and Drug Enforcement Administration agents arrested a city man on Wednesday while searching a home along Bridgeport Street.

Police went to the Vernon Hill-area home to search for a 25-year-old man accused of selling drugs. They found the man outside the home and arrested him before searching the building.

Inside, police found a gun with its serial number scratched off, plus marijuana and psychedelic mushrooms packaged for sale, Worcester police said in a news release.

The 25-year-old was charged with distribution of cocaine, two counts of possession of a gun without a license, possession of a large capacity feeding device, possession of ammunition without a license, distribution of a class D substance and possession of a class C substance, police said.
