Worcester Police Investigate Early Morning Stabbing

Worcester police are investigating an early morning stabbing incident.

WORCESTER, MA- Police are investigating a stabbing incident that happened early Thursday morning. Police received a call at 1:39 a.m. from Main Street reporting a stabbing. When they arrived they found a 26-year-old woman sitting on the sidewalk next to a McDonald’s restaurant. She appeared to be suffering from a single stab wound.

The woman was losing consciousness as EMS treated her and was not able to give officers details on what happened. She was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Witnesses on the scene tell police the woman was arguing with a man who had short facial hair and was wearing a dark jacket and dark pants. Witnesses say the argument got physical and they saw the woman fall to the ground .

When the witnesses approached the woman to see if she was okay the man she was talking to ran off on Freeland Street.

The woman is in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries. Police are still looking for the man involved.
